wagon

I always seem to run into the type of cars which tickle my fancy.

Like this imperfect perfect Vovlo, a  car-park anomaly. Wheels and a roof the only factors nearing it to integration.

the search for my (beetle) life

4 months short of being two decades young , responsibility and material independence are looming towards my adulthood shadow. Truth is, no matter how much of an intellectual a person may be, not translating the thoughts and nouns into actual verbs is futile.

to do list:

# find a job

#draw up a budget

#save

#save

#save

and lastly…

#become a smart consumer.

The idea is: once I am consumer, number one on my list is a  (used) RIDE.

a classic Volkswagen Beetle would be an ideal first car for an unusual lady like me.

In South African Rands these go for about R10 000 – R30 000.

In Pounds £722 – £2 166

In Euros €887 –  €2 662

In US Dollars $1 155 – $3 464

Not too shabby huh?

on the road^

we all love old-school wheels on the road but there’s a certain aspect of minimalism and simplicity attached to unmodified original vintage wheels – wheels that haven’t been ‘pimped’ with thousands of dollars and boastful adornments…

The Mini(malist) ↑

The scratches, banged edges and imperfect frame intrigue me. Depth and personality, this car has a story to tell

blue gentleman ↑

walking down the street off to the market and this blue gentleman passes by me. i had to pause and freeze him in action – camera popped out ~ image saved.

Pale Lady ↑

She is flawless! Snapped her while i was on the road, she found me ready and fully armed with my camera. One can tell that she’s had a few layers of paint and a touch-up here and there but her old soul lingers on.

Classic Beetle ↑

Captured her on my camera lens the same day i ran into Pale Lady. Even while being towed behind an every day truck, her Class remains with her bold dignity in tact.

Lime Dime ↑

she drove past right outside my yard at home, you can tell she’s low maintenance and humble. A catch i tell you.

(excuse the bad quality photo)

Lady in Red ↑

she’s fierce, illuminates power. She caught my eye up my road one night, her colour and swagger just lured me in. Must have!
